Seville Village

The Seville Inn at 39 West Main Street was added to the National Register of Historic Places in August 2020, reference number 100005486. Its own site describes it now as a crafting retreat centre taking reservations for retreats, contact 216-435-1904, and says the organisation is working to restore the building. It is one of three National Register listings with a Seville address, alongside the 1881 Seville Jail at 70 W. Main St. and the Halsey Hulburt Homestead on Seville Road west of the village.

Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery is at 10175 Rawiga Road with a Seville 44273 mailing address, but the county's 911 jurisdiction boundary layer places it in Guilford Township, not in Seville Village. The VA gives it as the 119th national cemetery, 273 acres with 65 developed in the first two phases and room for about 106,000 burials at full development, open to new interments, phone 330-335-3069, grounds open daily sunrise to sunset and the office Monday to Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Leohr Park at 99 High Street in Seville. The village's own parks page lists fishing, a pavilion, a walking trail, a restroom, sledding and the Avery Maple Grove Memorial Woodchip Walking Trail, and American Municipal Power's profile of the village describes a sledding hill, a fishing lake and nature trails. The pavilion is reservable at 330-769-4146, 25 dollars for residents and 100 for non-residents. The village says it maintains over three miles of nature walking trails across its parks.

Cy Hewit Park at 54 Liberty Street in Seville. The village's own parks page lists a walking trail, a restroom, fishing, a pavilion, sledding, ball fields, a playground, a tot lot and picnic tables there, which is the fullest amenity list the village publishes for any of its parks. The pavilion can be reserved at 330-769-4146 for 25 dollars for residents and 100 for non-residents.

Three, all within a few blocks of Main Street. Memorial Park at 60 West Market Street has a football field, ball fields and a memorial garden. Maria Stanhope Park at 73 West Main Street has a gazebo and a swing set, and holds the Ohio historical marker for the Giants of Seville. Freeman Park sits between Milton Street and Center Street with parking. Pavilions at Cy Hewit and Leohr are booked through the village at 330-769-4146, 25 dollars for residents and 100 for non-residents, and the village publishes a pavilion reservation form and an event application on its own site.

The Seville Library, a branch of the Medina County District Library, at 45 Center Street, phone 330-769-2852. The district describes it as 3,000 square feet and the smallest branch in the district, with a screened porch overlooking Hubbard Creek and a storytime area with a bay window. Published hours are Monday to Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed Sunday. The branch manager is Katie Graefnitz, and the branch also runs programming at the Seville Farmers Market and the Seville Arts Walk.

The Village of Seville's municipal building is at 120 Royal Crest Drive, phone 330-769-4146, open Monday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The mayor is Carol Carter. The village levies a 1 percent municipal income tax filed through the Central Collection Agency. A separately elected three-member Board of Public Affairs, chaired for 2026 by Brian Greer, runs the utilities and meets the first and third Monday at 6:45 p.m. The Seville Police Department works from the same building, is described by the village as a 24-hour agency covering the village, and is reached at 330-769-4003 for non-emergency business, 330-769-3311 for dispatch and 911 for emergencies. The chief is Taylor Deal.

Seville-Guilford Fire and EMS, from 100 W. Greenwich Road in Seville, business line 330-769-4112. It serves both Seville Village and Guilford Township, which has funded it jointly with the village since the department moved to Greenwich Road in 1980. The department runs six full-time firefighter paramedics and EMTs plus fifteen to twenty part-timers for 24-hour coverage, operates two advanced life support ambulances, and answers over 700 calls a year. The chief appointed effective 1 January 2026 is Keith Geiger. The department traces back to the Seville Volunteer Fire Department of 1869, and EMS began on 1 April 1980.

The village itself. The Seville Board of Public Affairs provides electric, water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer to the village and to parts of Guilford and Westfield Townships, from 120 Royal Crest Drive, phone 330-769-2458, with after-hours emergencies going to 330-725-6631. Electric serves more than 2,000 customers, buys supply through American Municipal Power of Ohio and is backed by a local diesel peak shaving generator. Water serves over 1,500 connections from two wells on Eby Road south of the village, through a treatment plant that opened in May 2006 using chlorination, sand filtration for iron and arsenic, and softening. Sewage goes to a sequencing batch reactor plant built in 1989, and storm sewer is funded by a flat 6 dollars a month.

Three different gas companies, by area. The village's own new resident page lists Columbia at 800-344-4077, Knox at 888-863-0032 for the Autumn Meadows area, and Consumer Gas Co-Op at 330-682-4144 for the Bates Crossing area. Trash is Rumpke, set up by calling 800-828-8171, and the village notes senior discounts, oversized item collection and that overflow trash cannot be left out. Internet is not a village service and Medina Homes Guide has not verified which providers reach which Seville street, so call the provider with the exact address before relying on any coverage claim.

There is no hospital in Seville. The nearest emergency department is Summa Health Wadsworth-Rittman at 195 Wadsworth Road in Wadsworth, which runs a 24-hour emergency department but admits no inpatients, because Summa ended inpatient services there in 2014. For a bed, the options are Cleveland Clinic Akron General Lodi Hospital at 225 Elyria Street in Lodi, a 20-bed critical access hospital with a 24-hour emergency department, Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital in the city of Medina, or Aultman Orrville Hospital in Orrville, Wayne County, a 25-bed critical access hospital. On scene, Seville-Guilford Fire and EMS runs two advanced life support ambulances from the station on West Greenwich Road.

Five congregations carry Seville village addresses. The Catholic site at 60 High Street belongs to Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, a regional parish the Diocese of Cleveland established in 1976 that covers 500 square miles across Ashland, Lorain, Medina and Wayne counties with worship sites in Litchfield, Lodi, Nova and Seville, administered from Litchfield. The others are Seville United Methodist Church at 74 W. Main Street, First Baptist Church of Seville at 22 E. Main Street and Seville Presbyterian Church at 101 Center Street. All four addresses geocode inside Seville Village.

Seville has a walkable shop and restaurant block on West Main Street. The businesses Medina Homes Guide can name from an organiser's own listing rather than a review site are the ones the Medina County Arts Council published as 2026 Seville Arts Walk stops: Kids Korner, Velvets Framing, Eighteen West Boutique and Vintage, Finns Fickle Goods, White Fern Tattoo Company, Electric Pete's E Bikes, Sparky's Pizza Co., Brass Skull Forge and Knife, and Seville Flower and Gift. The Historic Seville Inn at 39 West Main runs as a crafting retreat centre. Other cafes and restaurants appear only on review and menu-aggregator sites, so Medina Homes Guide does not list them yet, and there is 24-hour food and fuel at the Sheetz north of downtown on Center Street.

No full-size supermarket could be found inside Seville Village. There is convenience and fuel on Center Street, which is State Route 3, including a Sheetz whose opening the Medina Gazette reported, and a producers-only Seville Farm Market on Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon in Maria Stanhope Park at 73 W. Main Street. For a weekly shop, residents drive east to Wadsworth or the Medina area or west to Lodi.
