The Big Five

Every number here comes straight from the Medina County Auditor, the same records your agent pulls to price a home and a lender checks before they write a loan. We update them every month so you're always looking at current data. These are real sale prices from real Medina County transactions, and you can verify every one of them at the auditor's website. Whether you're buying and trying to figure out if a price actually makes sense, or thinking about selling and want to know what homes like yours have been getting, The Big Five are where that conversation starts.

1
$189,500
Median sale price The midpoint of all home sales here in the last 12 months. Half sold for more, half for less. If your budget is above this number, most of the market is in range. Below it, homes are available but you're working with the lower half of what's out there. Unlike an average, one high-priced sale doesn't throw this number off.
2
-11%
vs. last year Compares this year's median sale price to last year's. A dip doesn't mean the neighborhood is losing value. Prices often pull back after a hot year. For buyers, a negative number means more purchasing power than 12 months ago. For sellers, it's useful context on where the market sits today. See the price history chart below for the full picture.
3
15
Homes sold How many homes actually changed hands here in the last 12 months. A higher number means an active market. Homes sell quickly and buyers have more options. A lower number means a quieter market with less buyer traffic. It also tells you how much to trust the median price above. More sales means more data behind it, not a figure built on a handful of transactions.
4
0.3%
Annual tax rate Your yearly property tax bill as a percent of what you paid for the home. At 1.2%, a $400,000 home costs about $4,800 a year in taxes, roughly $400 a month added on top of your mortgage. Compare this across neighborhoods to see where your dollar goes further.
5
+84%
Above county value The county auditor has an official value on file for every home. It is what your property tax bill is based on. That number gets updated every few years and tends to run behind the real market. This tells you how much more homes here have actually been selling for above that county estimate. When you look up a home on the auditor's website, the value you see is not what you'd pay.

The median sale price in the stats above combines every property type sold here. For a more accurate number, use the row that matches what you're shopping for. Property types with fewer than 3 sales in the period roll into the combined total and won't appear as a separate row.

Numbers come from Medina County public deed records, filed with the county auditor and open to the public. Residential homes only. Includes for-sale-by-owner and foreclosure sales not tracked through an agent, so figures may run slightly different from what an agent's report shows.

Prices reflect conditions at the time of sale. Economic events like interest rate cycles, pandemic-era demand shifts, and changes in local housing supply can cause year-over-year swings that overstate or understate what the underlying market is actually doing. The trend is useful context, not a final word.

Who responds to a fire in Gloria Glens Park Ohio

Fire and EMS for Gloria Glens Park come from Lafayette Township, not from the Westfield Fire and Rescue District that covers the surrounding township. The village's own Fire and Rescue page carries Lafayette's line, "Proudly serving Lafayette Township, Chippewa Lake and Gloria Glens," with the station at 6367 Technology Lane, Medina, non-emergency 330-722-4965. The county's 2026 Directory of Public Officials lists the village's fire chief as Brian Cavanaugh at a Lafayette Township email. The station sits about three miles north of the village hall in a straight line and falls inside Lafayette Township on the county boundary file. Recreational fires are allowed under three feet across and two feet high, clean seasoned wood only, constantly attended, twenty-five feet from a structure or fifteen in an approved container. Sirens are tested at noon on the first Saturday of the month.

Does Gloria Glens Park have its own police

Gloria Glens Park has no police department of its own. The county's 2026 Directory of Public Officials lists the Medina County Sheriff, emergency 911 and non-emergency 330-725-6631, and the village publishes the Sheriff's general information line 330-725-0028 and detective bureau 330-725-9116 as well. Golf carts are street legal and the Sheriff inspects them: the village publishes an inspection sheet to read but not to fill in, and says to call non-emergency dispatch at 330-725-6631, after which a deputy comes to the house. New golf cart owners now need a windshield wiper, manual or electric, and earlier owners are grandfathered in. Serving alcohol at a Village Hall rental requires the renter to hire a deputy at $30.00 an hour with a four hour minimum.

Can I use the beach if I buy a house in Gloria Glens Park

Chippewa Lake is public water, but the shoreline inside Gloria Glens Park is not. The village says on its own Lake page that you may not launch a boat within the village unless you are a member of The Association, in capitals. Its FAQ lists lake access as being for Association members only, with parking passes required for all. The Gloria Glens Association is a separate non-profit, not the village; it maintains the shoreline, beach and picnic areas inside village limits, runs the boat ramp and issues parking passes, and every village resident is eligible to join. The beach is members, families and accompanied guests only, with sign-in at a beach attendant, no lifeguard, no diving off the concrete pier where the water is about a foot deep, and no alcohol, glass or picnics. Dues are due 15 May and late payment delays beach access, boat stickers and parking passes.

Can I keep a boat at a dock in Gloria Glens Park

Gloria Glens is one of three places the Medina County Park District names when it decides who may keep a boat at a private dock on Chippewa Lake. Section 11 of the district's Rules and Regulations limits Private Dock Watercraft Stickers, and overnight docking from an hour after sundown to an hour before sunrise, to residents and owners of inhabited homes in the Chippewa Lake Communities: the Village of Chippewa Lake, the Village of Gloria Glens, and homes on Euclid Avenue, Lakeside Drive, Lakeview Court and Shady Slope Drive in Lafayette Township within 600 feet of the lake. The village separately says four docks at Gloria Glens are privately owned and maintained, and names the dock masters to call about space: Southside Docks, Inc. for Dock 1, the Chippewa Yacht Club for Dock 2, and a third for Dock 3. The Gloria Glens Association manages the boat ramp and issues parking passes, and wants dues and paperwork in before opening weekend.

What is the history of Gloria Glens Park Ohio

Gloria Glens Park was built to house guests of the amusement park next door. The village's own history, credited to David W. and Diane DeMali Francis, says Oscar Townsend and the Cleveland, Lorain and Wheeling Railroad developed a vacation resort on the lake in the 1880s that became Chippewa Lake Park, and that the Village of Gloria Glens Park was created by the park to house patrons who wanted overnight accommodation for the weekends. Most of the surviving bungalow style homes have since been updated and converted to year round houses. The village's account says the Depression and the end of interurban rail crippled the park, Parker Beach bought it in 1937 and kept the ballroom full of bands through a golden age to 1969, and the park closed in 1978 after more than 100 years. The village says it has welcomed people to the lake shore for 100 years.

Who plows the roads in Gloria Glens Park Ohio

Gloria Glens Park maintains its own roads, and Westfield Township's roads page lists it among the villages that do. The village says the streets are always salted or plowed during and after heavy snow accumulation and asks residents to pile driveway snow to either side rather than into the road. Council assigns roads to one of its members. The street grid is short and internal: Beau Bay Boulevard, Demi Dune Drive, Dawnshire Drive, Redfern Road, Lakefield Lane, Lorrie Lane and Playland Parkway all fall inside the village polygon on the county's 911 boundary file, and the whole village is about 72 acres. The through road is Lake Road, which runs north into the Village of Chippewa Lake and south into Westfield Township. The village says the lake sits southwest of Medina between U.S. Route 42 and State Route 3.

Gloria Glens Park runs its own zoning, and Westfield Township's own FAQ page says both villages in the township have their own governance and zoning commission. The village's zoning inspector is Scott Gold, 440-371-6177, who interprets and enforces the zoning and nuisance regulations, reviews construction applications, issues permits and handles violations, and zoning is reported at council straight after the monthly meeting. Construction permits and inspections come from the Medina County Building Department at 791 West Smith Road, Medina, 330-722-9220. The village publishes its own street, zoning and flood maps, and its documents page carries flood plain applications, the Ohio Floodplain Management Handbook, no-rise certification guidance, FEMA elevation certificate instructions and a Flood Hazard Area Development Permit. Call 811 at least 48 hours before digging.

Is Gloria Glens Park a village or a township

Gloria Glens Park is a village. The Auditor of State of Ohio audited the Village of Gloria Glens Park for 2024 and 2023, released 25 November 2025, and names a mayor and council. The Medina County commissioners' 2026 Directory of Public Officials lists it under Village Officials and lists no Gloria Glens township among the county's seventeen. Cloverleaf's audited statements for 2023 name the Village of Gloria Glens in the district's territory. Whether the village is still inside Westfield Township is a separate question and it is open. The Medina Post reported that commissioners detached it from Westfield on 7 March over a Westfield fire levy, in an article with no year, and Ohio Revised Code 503.07 lets a village council petition for exactly that without the village ceasing to be a village. The county auditor's recent rate tables carry two Gloria Glens taxing districts, one with Westfield Township and one without, where older sheets carried only one. Westfield Township's own FAQ page still says both villages reside in the township. Anyone who needs the answer for a tax bill, a deed or a fire contract should get it from the Medina County Auditor or the commissioners' journal of resolutions.

Why are there two Gloria Glens polygons on the Medina County map

The Medina County 911 boundary file carries a 1.756 acre polygon labelled Gloria Glens - Westfield Township just north of the main village polygon. Commissioners' minutes for 1 May 2018 record an Expedited Type 2 petition, filed 4 April 2018, for one parcel of 1.7616 acres to go from Westfield Township to the Village of Gloria Glens Park, with review set for 8 May 2018. The acreages match. Annexing land to an Ohio municipality does not by itself take it out of the township, which is why the county auditor's rate tables carry a Gloria Glens Village/Westfield Township taxing district alongside the plain Gloria Glens Village one. A point inside the sliver returns Gloria Glens - Westfield Township, a point just south returns Gloria Glens Park Village, and a point just north returns Lafayette Township.
